Ballet for piano (piano, 1995) This piece for solo piano explores a simply stated motive within the context of dance-like movement.
Until we meet again (piano, 1995) This piece was written in commemoration of the life of my grandfather, Del Wynkoop. It incorporates the hymns Abide with me (my grandfather’s favorite hymn) and Go my children with my blessing.
Father, let me dedicate (piano, 2008) This set of variations on the hymn tune Glorification was written for the wedding of Doug and Sonja Hummel-Dick.
Poetic Suite, no. 1 “Emily” (piano, 2008) This set of five short pieces is inspired by five poems of Emily Dickenson: I. I’ll tell you how the sun rose, II. There came a wind like a bugle, III. On this long storm the rainbow rose, IV. It struck me every day, and V. Blazing in gold and quenching in purple.
Sonata, no. 1, “La Romanza” (piano, 2008) Sonata for piano that features a theme and variations on a theme of Chopin as the second movement.
Angel’s Medley (piano-organ duet, 2008) This duet for piano and organ contains several carols, including Hark! the Herald Angels Sing, Ding Dong Merrily on High, O Come All Ye Faithful, and others.
Built on the Rock (organ, 2010; organ, brass choir, timpani, 2012) This setting was written for the 100th anniversary of Zion Lutheran Church in Crete, IL. It is meant as a festival accompaniment for congregational singing.
Fantasia on St. Anne (piano, 2014) Written for the postlude of a joint Reformation service, this setting of St. Anne is the first movement of Triptych for Reformation (in progress).
