Charles-Valentin Alkan, a late 19th century French composer, was known for his piano works. Within his set of Etudes in all the minor keys, Op. 39, were included a four movement “symphony for solo piano” and three movement “concerto for solo piano.” I have orchestrated the Symphony for Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, and Strings.
